We can't wait to see Y'all in San Antonio This week!
Don't forget to Join us for some FUN with an excursion while attending the Zone Institute.
Feel like howling or singing? We have an excursion for that! Have a true San Antonio experience by visiting the historic Alamo or The Mercado or check out the Pearl Brewery District. If that's not your style, brush up on your line dancing or dance the night away at the Cowboys Dancehall San Antonio. Check out all of our excursion options provided in Zone Excursion Coordinator Bill Dendy's document below. And register for one or two or all, with the "I want to do that!" button.
Join us for a morning walk to "End Polio" by donating $25 or more! Your donation includes a complimentary t-shirt (while supplies last), which will be provided before the event. We'll gather on Saturday, September 7th, at 6:30 AM in the hotel lobby. Don't forget to wear comfortable shoes and clothing as we walk a mile together!
The Magic of REading--Book Donations for CASA San Antonio
Do you remember your favorite childhood book? For me, it was Stuart Little. I loved reading it every night, feeling like I was right there with Stuart on his tiny boat. But not all children have books of their own by their bedside. At our Zone Institute in San Antonio, we’re helping change that by donating books from an Amazon wishlist to CASA. Many of these children have faced abuse and neglect, often leaving their homes with nothing. A book can be a magical escape for them.
Please consider donating a book or two from the Amazon Gift Registry for CASA. When you check out, select Kristen Salazar's Gift Registry Address for shipping. Books for school-age children are most needed! Donate today!
During your stay at the Marriott, you will notice several intentional environmentally friendly initiatives such as linenless tablecloths to reduce water waste; no plastic utensils or plates; and water bubblers throughout the hotel where you can fill and re-fill your Rotary Institute water bottles.
Marriott has one of the most progressive and measurable corporate approaches to addressing global environmental needs.
2024 Zone Institute in San Antonio promises to give you a good time! While we do anticipate the Texas heat (no we are not talking about spicy food), the hotel and meeting rooms are cool and occasionalLy chilly.
Please dress in comfortable layers. The dress is Rotary business casual.
Friday evening dinner is Denim & Diamonds - Texas chic. What does that mean? Jeans and nice shirt, boots, cowboy hats, and a little bling. You can use party jewelry instead of your Tiffany’s Diamonds.
Our Saturday evening dinner business/semi-formal. This event includes the formal introduction of our DGE class.
There will be plenty of time for casual/laid-back, don't sweat to death, clothing. So don't forget to pack some shorts or lightweight clothing to wear during our down time.
As Rotary members we subscribe to the Four Way Test and the objectives of what binds us all together --- including being non-political. As the United States is in the midst of major elections and Zone 29 will be selecting a Rotary International Director 2026-2028 by mid-October; please remember there is no electioneering or campaigning by candidates or for candidates by any Rotary member.
Enjoy your time in San Antonio as you network and share fellowship with new and existing Rotary friends!
