On Saturday, September 21st, at 8:00 AM, Rotary District 5840 will commemorate World Peace Day by installing a Peace Pole at the San Antonio Peace Center, located at Northwest Vista Campus, 3535 N. Ellison Dr. This event will bring together Rotary members, community leaders, and peace advocates in a shared commitment to promoting peace and unity.

The Peace Pole, an internationally recognized symbol of the hopes and dreams for peace across the globe, will display the message "May Peace Prevail on Earth" in multiple languages. This ceremony is part of Rotary’s larger mission to foster global understanding and goodwill.

Rotary District Governor Kristen Salazar, reflecting on the importance of this year’s World Peace Day, shared, “On this year's World Peace Day, we are reminded of the critical role that peace plays in our global community. This Peace Pole installation is a testament to our district’s dedication to building bridges of understanding, fostering dialogue, and promoting peace in our local communities and beyond.”

All community members are invited to attend this event, which will include remarks from local dignitaries and an opportunity to reflect on the importance of peace in today’s world.
