District Governor Sharon Bloodworth kicked off her Rotary year with a bold message: Live Rotary out loud! No more hiding behind closed doors in country clubs and meeting rooms — it’s time to show the world who we are! And what better place to start than the heart of Minnesota’s summer: the State Fair.
On a day when over 200,000 fairgoers packed the grounds, 300 Rotarians stormed the scene in full "Rotary on a Stick" style. Wearing matching foam Viking hats and eye-catching themed gear, they conducted a waste study, participated in a Rotary-wide treasure hunt, and 70 members proudly marched in the fair’s lively parade. Sharon made sure we stood out — and we did!
Our float and enthusiastic fans displayed a QR code linking to a dynamic landing page that showcased every club in the district, turning curious onlookers into potential members. It was fun, festive, and unforgettable.
This vibrant energy didn’t stop at the fair. Inspired clubs across the district took Rotary into the streets and communities keeping Sharon’s rally cry alive: be seen, be proud, and be Rotary. After all, if we want more members, our communities need to see what makes us great.
