Rotarians from 9 District 5870 clubs connected with the Rotary Club of Cozumel to bring clean, drinkable water to over 1,200 students and 80 staff at CBTIS 28, a public secondary school with no access to drinkable water.

Together, they fully funded and implemented a $29,000 rainwater harvesting and purification system, transforming unusable school fountains into a reliable source of safe drinking water.
This pilot project—the first of its kind in Cozumel—now serves as a model for replication across the island’s 44 public schools. Building on the success of this pilot, the Rotary Club of Pflugerville is bringing together clubs for a second phase in 2026—to continue expanding clean water access and transforming lives across Cozumel.
