On June 2nd, 2025, the Rotary Club of Sibley celebrated our 100 Year Anniversary.  For this occasion, we held a small ceremony at our local park, the Sam Robinson Park in Sibley.  We have had a Rotary shelter house there for many years so most of our major projects for our 100 Year were in the park.

We bought and built 10 new picnic tables, 6 of which were placed in our shelter house and the other 4 were given to the city to place in other shelter houses throughout the city where there was a need.  We also provided a new, adjustable glass basketball hoop, replacing an old hoop.  We updated some frog ride on toys for the little ones.  We added tetherball and 2 small sand excavating/digging toys in a little sand pit, as well.  Our city was so helpful on this project and installed these items for us.  We also added a Rotary sign to the park.

Our other large anniversary project we completed was a musical tree instrument outside of our local library.  We received a grant from the Osceola Community Foundation to help us complete this project.  Our library is downtown Sibley so we wanted to attract more people to our downtown businesses as well as the library.
One of our annual projects was also completed in May.  For over 10 years, we have gifted bike helmets to all the first graders in the Sibley-Ocheyedan School District.  We partner with the Osceola County Sheriff's Department and provide a small program on Bike Safety.  Our local A&W donates Free Ice Cream Cone Coupons that we give our Sheriffs so when they see a child wearing their helmet, they can “pull them over” and give them a coupon for to go get a free cone!  We love that this promotes bike safety and healthy, positive relationships with our local law enforcement.

We are excited to continue to work as a club to improve our community for many more years to come!  This year was an exciting one and has been very motivating to continue to find projects to keep moving our community in a positive direction.
